Barangay Postal ID Campaign: Starting The Year Right

The Marketing Section of Philpost 6, under the leadership of Tess D. Planco, got to a good start by bringing the postal services closer to the people, raising up hopes that the year 2011 would be even better and brighter for Philippine Postal Corporation.

This early, Ms. Planco and her staff have already visited 3 barangays in Iloilo City to process Postal ID applications so that barangay residents no longer need to go to the Post Office.

The Postal ID is a credible proof of one’s identity. It is the only Philippine-issued ID that can be accepted in foreign countries, making it very useful to OFWs and those who wish to travel abroad. Needless to say, everybody needs a Postal ID for any of the following:

• postal transactions
• bank transactions
• transactions with government agencies and private firms
• credit card application

It is fairly easy to apply for a Postal ID, and we can make things even easier for those in the barangays. Barangay officials need only to schedule an appointment with us (we can be reached at 335-1119 or 509-8360) and our Marketing Staff will visit them, bringing along PID application forms and PID cards, thereby saving barangay residents a trip to the Post Office. However, as we desire to protect the integrity of our Postal ID, the following are strictly required of PID applicants:

• Barangay Clearance
• Residence Certificate
• 2 recently 2x2 photographs
