Postal ID applicants no longer have to go through so much trouble coming up with ID pictures for Postal ID. Philpost-6 now offers photo services at the Regional Office and Bacolod City Post Office.

For only P 35.00, you get 6 pieces of high-quality passport-sized ID pictures already. This is actually cheaper than having your photos professionally taken and printed.

So don’t worry if you don’t have your ID pictures with you yet when you apply for a Postal ID, our customer-friendly staff will take care of that. As much as possible, though, we encourage that you come in business attire, or at the very least sleeved tops (not sleeveless or tube tops, please!), considering that your Postal ID will be used for business transactions.

New Philpost Board Chairman Alfredo G. Gabot Visits Postal Region 6

Chairman Alfredo G. Gabot is in Postal Region 6 again, but this time as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, Philippine Postal Corporation. Along with General Edgardo Espinosa, Member of the Philpost Board of Directors, and Atty. Florante Cruz, Corporate Secretary of the Philpost Board of Directors, Chairman Gabot met with the postal officials of Philpost Region 6 on May 5, 2010, at Villa Sagrado, Gen, Hughes, Iloilo City, presenting to them an overview of the current situation of the corporation, the rationalization plan, as well as the revenue generating projects the BOD is proposing or working on.

The working Chairman cited modernization programs and projects with PAGCOR, SSS, and PCSO. He also pressed on the need to aggressively market Philpost’s traditional products but also emphasized the importance of exploring non-traditional avenues of generating income. The Chairman asked for the cooperation of the postal employees, too, pointing out the value of a harmonious working relationship among them and the top officials in achieving corporate goals.

Philpost Solid Waste Management Program In Full Swing

Philpost launched the Solid Waste Management Program, led by Postmaster General and CEO Hector RR Villanueva and APMG for Administration Luis Carlos last February 26, 2010, proving that Philpost is not just people-friendly, but environment-friendly, too. The program is expected to be in full swing in time for the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day on April 22, 2010.

GSIS E-Card Transactions Now Available in Selected Post Offices in Region 6

GSIS POS terminals are now available in Iloilo City Post Office, Bacolod City Post Office, Roxas City Post Office, Kalibo Post Office, San Jose Antique Post Office, San Carlos City in Negros Occidental and Cadiz City also in Negros Occidental, providing pensioners and e-card holders with an alternative means to make balance inquiries and cash out retirement allowances or GSIS loan proceeds.

The availability of these GSIS POS terminals in Region 6’s capital post offices significantly reduces the need to queue in front of Unionbanks ATMs, which everyone knows can be quite inconvenient considering that there aren’t many of them in Region 6. In fact, there are only 2 Unionbank ATMs in Iloilo City and another 2 in Bacolod City, and you must know pensioners and e-card holders number by the thousands!

You can avoid the long lines (as well as making a trip to Iloilo City or Bacolod City) by simply visiting any capital post office near you and having your GSIS e-card transaction there. It’s very easy and loads more convenient. Here’s how:

Step 1
Present your GSIS e-card, along with a valid ID to the postmaster or teller.
A valid ID can be any of the following:

• Postal ID
• Passport
• Current Driver’s License
• Major Credit Card with picture
• Permit to carry firearms
• PRC ID
• New TIN
• Company ID
• NSO authenticated birth certificate
• NSO authenticated marriage certificate
• Original and unexpired NBI clearance
• OSCA card
• POEA/OWWA card
• Digitized voter’s ID
• Consular ID

Step 2 
Fill out the GSIS Customer Information Sheet (CIS). This is necessary for initial transactions with the same post office only. For succeeding transactions (unless the transactions are with a different post office) this step will be omitted

Step 3 
Validation of signature by the Postmaster or Teller

Step 4
Once the signature is validated, member/pensioner fills out the GSIS e-card Payment form

Step 5
Postmaster/Teller inserts the e-card into the POS terminal

Step 6
Member/pensioner enters his 6-digit POS PIN

Step 7
Member/pensioner makes balance inquiry prior to withdrawal – this is a
MUST.

Step 8
Processing of withdrawal

Step 9
Generation of transaction receipts which the member/pensioner must sign

Step 10
Postmaster/Teller hands out the cash, net of service fee.
