PHLPost Area 6 Implements New Rates for Domestic Ordinary Mails

This July, 2014, PHLPost Area 6 started implementing the new Postage Rates for Domestic Ordinary Mails which have been rationalized to cope with the increase in operational costs, approved through PHLPost Board Resolution No. 2014-31 dated May 8, 2014.

While PHLPost maintains its ordinary mail services, PHLPost Area 6 Director Fabiolita P. Ferraris, CESO III, strongly encourages clients, especially those in the business sector, to avail themselves of PhlPost’s premium domestic mail services, such as the Express Pouch, Domestic Express Mail, and Registered Mail with Return Receipt. For Government Agencies and private companies that require assurance and proof that their mails reach their clients, Director Ferraris highly recommends PHLPOst’s electronic Business Mail Service, which provides clients with a customer ID and password, allowing them to track and trace the status of their mails 24/7.

Barangay Postal ID Campaign: Starting The Year Right

The Marketing Section of Philpost 6, under the leadership of Tess D. Planco, got to a good start by bringing the postal services closer to the people, raising up hopes that the year 2011 would be even better and brighter for Philippine Postal Corporation.

This early, Ms. Planco and her staff have already visited 3 barangays in Iloilo City to process Postal ID applications so that barangay residents no longer need to go to the Post Office.

The Postal ID is a credible proof of one’s identity. It is the only Philippine-issued ID that can be accepted in foreign countries, making it very useful to OFWs and those who wish to travel abroad. Needless to say, everybody needs a Postal ID for any of the following:

• postal transactions
• bank transactions
• transactions with government agencies and private firms
• credit card application

It is fairly easy to apply for a Postal ID, and we can make things even easier for those in the barangays. Barangay officials need only to schedule an appointment with us (we can be reached at 335-1119 or 509-8360) and our Marketing Staff will visit them, bringing along PID application forms and PID cards, thereby saving barangay residents a trip to the Post Office. However, as we desire to protect the integrity of our Postal ID, the following are strictly required of PID applicants:

• Barangay Clearance
• Residence Certificate
• 2 recently 2x2 photographs

Philpost Braved The Financial Storm in 2009

The year 2009 proved to be another challenging year for Philpost 6, and thankfully, it experienced no big shakers during the year. It’s not to say that the year passed by rather uneventfully, but at least there were no Franks, no Pepings, no Ondoys, nothing of the sort that would have created huge stumbling blocks on Philpost’s plans and programs.

Still, the global financial crisis continued to rock business of any kind, and that included the communications industry. Philpost 6 was not spared of the effects of the crisis, yet it was unrelenting in its resolve to meet the challenges head-on.

In order to lessen the impact of the crisis, we conducted intensive marketing campaigns of Philpost products and services, most particularly the PID, express pouch and Globe Autoloadmax. We also implemented the Proof of Delivery (POD) system and the rush ID fee. We purchased additional laminating machines so more post offices might be able to provide laminating services and accept rush ID.

We went down to the barangay levels and made personal visits to government offices and private companies for a more personalized service and to bring our products closer to the people.

We also reviewed our dispatch and delivery schemes and came out with programs that enhanced our delivery capability.

All these activities earned us 12 new clients. Our biggest new client, Avon Philippines, avails itself of our ordinary mail with POD service.
